My name is Natasha, and I am a teller of stories and a maker of things who lives in Toronto (the traditional territory of the Mississaugas, Anishnabeg, Chippewa, Haudenosaunee, and Wendat peoples) with my adopted rescue dog.
During the first quarantine of 2020, I reconnected with my childhood love for working with polymer clay and began creating pet portrait magnets to spread joy to friends and family during hard times.
What started as a hobby turned into a small business when friends and strangers began requesting my work. Two years and 300 pet portraits later, Mates & Nines has expanded to include jewelry, candles, pottery, paintings, and curated vintage goods from my retro-loving collection.
When you support my shop, you’re directly supporting a queer, independent artist. Your purchases cover art materials, website fees, and my time and care in creating unique, affordable, handcrafted goods. Thank you for valuing what I do!
